During the National Day holidays, one stronger stream of cold air will affect the country. Meanwhile, south China and areas south of the Yangtze River will probably be hit by another typhoon, which will bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to above regions and the coastal areas in southeast and south China as well as east sea areas and south sea areas.
I One stream of cold air to hit northern China
October 1 to 2, eastern parts of northwest China, north China, northeast China, the Yellow-Huaihe rivers areas and the Yangtze-Huaihe rivers areas will experience light to moderate rainfall with force 5 to 7 northerly winds and temperatures will also drop 6 to 10 Celsius degree.
October 3 to 7, most of northern China will be dominated by sunny to cloudy skies with mild winds. Temperatures will climb up gradually.
II Precipitation expected in southern China
October 1, areas south of the Yangtze River and south China will appear sunny and hot weather. October 2 to 4, temperatures in above regions will fall 4 to 8 Celsius degrees.
October 2 to 4, No. 0519 typhoon Longwang will likely affect some parts of south China and areas south of the Yangtze River. Eastern and southern areas south of the Yangtze River and most of south China will have strong winds and heavy rainfall; eastern sections of southwest China will also see precipitation.
III October 5 to 7, rainfall will appear mainly in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, eastern sections of southwest China and southeastern sections of northwest China, while the remainder regions will see no obvious precipitation.
Weekly Weather Forecast (Oct. 3 to 9)
Northwest China: October 3 to 4, most of the region will be dominated by sunny to cloudy skies with showers possible in some places; Affected by one stream of cold air, October 5 to 7, some parts of eastern sections will have light to moderate rainfall with heavy rain expected in some southeastern areas. October 8 to 9, the region will see sunny to cloudy days.
North China: October 3 to 6, most of the region will be dominated by sunny to cloudy skies with showers and force 3 to 4 northerly winds in some northernmost parts. Affected by streams of cold air, October 7 to 9, most of the north will be overcast with light rain and lower temperature expected in northernmost and eastern parts.
Northeast China: October 3, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy. October 4 to 5, northernmost sections will get showers. October 8 to 9, affected by streams of cold air, most of the region will be overcast with light rainfall, while moderate rainfall are expected in some easternmost and southern sections, accompanied by force 4 southerly or northerly winds as well as colder temperatures.
Central China: October 3 to 4, most parts will be sunny to cloudy. October 5 to 6, some of southern parts will have showers or light rainfall. October 8 to 9, central and northern parts will be overcast with light rainfall or showers in some of southern parts.
East China: Affected by typhoon Longwang, October 3 to 4, areas south of the Yangtze River will meet moderate to heavy rainfall, while southern Fujian will receive rainstorms with cloudburst and force 7 to 9 winds in some places. The coastal areas in southeastern regions will have force 10 to 12 gale. Areas north of the Yangtze River will be sunny to cloudy. Affected by streams of cold air, October 8 to 9, areas north of the Yangtze River will be overcast with light rains or moderate rainfall in some areas, while southern parts will be dominated by cloudy skies with showers in some places. The region will be under cloudy to sunny skies during the remainder days of the week with possible showers in some areas.
South China: Affected by typhoon Longwang, October 3 to 6, most of the region will have light to moderate rainfall, while eastern and southern sections and the coastal areas will meet heavy to stormy rainfall with force 7 to 9 gale. October 7 to 9, most of the region will see cloudy to sunny skies with showers or light rainfall in some of southern sections.
Southwest China: During the week, eastern Tibet and Sichuan Province will see more overcast and wet days. October 3 to 5, central and eastern Tibet and most of the southwest will be overcast with light rainfall, moderate rain expected in some of Sichuan Province. October 6 to 7, northern section of the region will experience light rainfall while the remainder sections will be sunny to cloudy. October 8 to 9, eastern Tibet and eastern sections of the region will have light rains or showers with moderate to heavy rainfall in some areas.
