Noh Seung-yul is the fourth-ranked Korean and currently tops the Asian Tour Order of Merit. The 19-year-old won the Maybank Malaysian Open and finished joint fourth in the Ballantine’s Championship in Korea and fourth in the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.

Power-hitter Kim Dae-hyun, 22, leads the Korean Tour money list and is third in the OneAsia standings after winning the GS Caltex Maekyung Open and finishing runner-up to Bae in the SK Telecom Open. The slim Kim currently tops the Korean Tour's driving distance ranking after topping the table for the past two years.

A host of other young Koreans are set to vie for the title, including Lee Seong-ho (24), Kang Sung-hoon (23), Son Joon-eob (22), the two Kim Do-hoons (both 21) and Kim Bi-o (20), who have all won on this year's Korean Tour.

Kim Dae-sub, who won the event twice as a young amateur in 1998 and 2001, was runner-up last year and the 29-year-old has extra motivation for winning this year as he's set to begin military service next year.

The Kolon Korea Open attracts a strong field and past champions include Vijay Singh (2007), John Daly (2003), Sergio Garcia (2002), K.J. Choi (1996, 1999) and Scott Hoch (1990, 1991).

The Kolon Korea Open is the seventh tournament on this year's OneAsia schedule and will be followed by the Midea China Classic in Shunde from October 14-17.

The Kolon Korea Open will be showcased on OneAsia's television platform with live coverage for four hours a day across all four tournament days, and broadcast to over 260 million homes in more than 40 countries.
