The number of graduates in China is set to top more than 6 and a half million next year. Finding employment is always a great concern. By this time each year, students are usually well underway preparing for their careers.

The job hunting season usually begins around September. Gathering information, attending job fairs and sitting through interviews is part of an under-graduate's daily life.

Li Dai is majoring in psychology at Peking University. He has already found himself a position at a consulting business.

Li said, "This year's employment trend is relatively good. The industries that I am interested in is expanding their campus recruitment. I obtained an opportunity as an intern this summer in a consulting firm and I am lucky enough to find a job."

Li Dai says most of his classmates find job information on the internet. The website of Students Career Center at Peking University publishes job information and students will exchange ideas and raise questions about job hunting. Universities have done a lot of work to help students find a job.

Yao Jianwen, Administrator of Peking University, said, "We mainly help students in two directions. First, we gather information related to their majors then give it to our students. Second, we will share our schoolfellow resources. We will recommend internships and job opportunities. Of course, students can find sufficient information on the internet."

Zheng Yan is a undergraduate majoring in Russian Literature at Beijing Foreign Studies University. He has already taken part in the Annual National Public Servant Exam on December 5th and is still waiting for results. Some of his classmates already have job offers.

Zheng said, "We have 24 students in our class, three quarters of them are looking for job. Four got job offers and before the end of this semester, more results will come out. Personally speaking, finding a job means pressure and competition, but overall, it's not too difficult to find a job, the most important is to find a suitable one."

Yao said, "In our experiences, if graduates have clear expectations and a plan, which industry and which position they are interested in, it will be easier for them to find a job. Massive resume submitting and having too many interviews won't help. Our suggestion is focusing on industries and directions that they really want to dedicate themselves to."
